Presentation :

A leading figure of contemporary Taiwanese poetry, Yen Ai-Lin (顏艾琳) was born in 1968 in Tainan, Taiwan. Her work is distinguished by a profound engagement with questions of identity, the body, and feminine consciousness, which constitute central concerns of modern Taiwanese poetry. These themes are explored through a writing style that is at once sensitive, innovative and deeply engaged.

She holds a degree in History from Fu Jen Catholic University (Taipei) and has undertaken advanced training in language and creative writing at the National Taipei University of Education, an academic background that informs both her formal research and her contemporary poetic practice.

A recognised figure in the poetic renewal of Taiwan, Yen Ai-Lin has received numerous literary awards, including the prestigious Wu Zhuo-Liu New Poetry Award, confirming her major role in the current Taiwanese literary landscape.
